Speckled Pewter is the cousin patina to our Vintage Pewter patina as the Vintage was born of a failed attempt at Speckled that we ended up loving so much, we gave it a name. Although the Vintage has larger patches of color and non-color, this finish is much more monochromatic as a whole. When looking closely at the surface, you will notices small speckled spots not unlike the flecks on a birds egg in grays, blacks and even some warm golds and browns. Although, when looking at the piece as a whole, the overall look is simply mottled and quite monochromatic.
Like the Vintage patina, we can chose to clear coat in order to maintain the look or, simply use it as a place holder while the natural tone of patina begins to happen organically.
