Pewter Butterdish
Pewter Butterdish is more of a texture than a patina, getting its name from one of Stefan's beautiful sisters, Brooke. Looking at Pewter samples with her that were perfect, shiny and new, she asked if we could make the pewter look like an antique butter dish she had picked up at a second hand store. She loved the use, age and patina it had acquired through years of service.
Of course time, use and love puts a depth on things that can not be created over night however, through some experimenting, we came up with this pitted and imperfect texture, in line with Brooke's butter dish. We love it!
Because of the pitting we hand apply, the surface of the Pewter warps and ripples giving highs and low to the surface and creating a medium level of tone on tone mottling.
Being one of our Textured finishes, Pewter Butterdish does add cost to any project.
